Beautiful Sequim

 Tuesday I asked J and M to drive me around Sequim, and show me some of the sights so I could take pictures.

 This was a beautiful old house that had been restored.

 They also took me out to the old Dungeness School House. It was built in 1893. The day we were there it looked like they were about to give it a fresh painting and it looked pretty shabby all scraped down.

 Next we visited Graysmarsh Berry farm.

 While we were in town we checked out my two favorite shops. Heather Creek and Over the Fence.

 Our first stop was at Purple Haze Lavender Farm.

 I don't know who this little girl is, but she was so cute playing in the lavender field.

 While we were looking at the peacocks at Purple Haze M looked up and spotted this pair of balled eagles.

If you ever get a chance to visit the peninsula on a sunny day, I highly suggest it. I am not sure there are many places more beautiful.

Fishing On The Peninsula

 Monday W, J, and I drove out to Elk Lake (half way between Neah Bay and Forks WA). It is on private land so we had the place to ourselves. It was one of their rare sunny days, and it could not have been a more perfect day. As you can see everything is very wet and lush. What you can't see is that what J and W are walking on is all floating on the water. The tree line is where the water's edge is at.

 I tried to take a picture of one of my 8 fish, but as you can see it got off the hook.

 These little plants were all over. I don't know what it is, but it looked a lot like a venus fly trap.

 J and I did a bit of exploring down the creek.

 This is my blog so I can brag a little right? I caught the 2 largest fish.

Chalk

This week I wanted to do a little project. Monday J and I went to Craft Warehouse looking for the components. I did not find exactly what I needed, but did find some other fun things.

I found this little galvanized clipboard and got some chalkboard paint to make this. And since I now had the chalk...

I have also been having fun with my plants. We finally are getting more sun-breaks and my plants are really taking off, and I have been outside more. 

Of course while I am out, the cats want to be out too. I am still playing with my camera and trying to learn how to use it. This is the first video I have taken with it. Sadly blogger shrunk the quality so it looks pretty bad. It is of Fritz, the water running down the patio made him so nervous. It just made me laugh at what a little city cat he is. Sadly I didn't catch the part where he batted at it with his paw. Marsh on the other hand loves the water (as long as it doesn't get on him) and after he wondered over he spent the next several minutes drinking out of the little puddle.

Fun Food

 For a rare treat I got a bag of those cheep pillow mints. I remember loving them as a kid, but they just didn't thrill me now like they did when I was 8. I did enjoy putting them in my hot chocolate though, and I think around Christmas I might get another bag. You really have to try this one if you like mint and chocolate. In my opinion they are much better than the little marshmallows, but look much the same.

Also if you have never tried using goldfish crackers as croutons in a salad, it is a fun alternative. I have seen people put them in salads at ward activities and it looks like a good way to get kids to eat their greens.
